Starting as a Volleyball Lover
Neeraj’s love for volleyball started when he was just 12 years old. He decided to try it, and it
turned out he had a natural talent for the game. His skills didn’t go unnoticed.
A coach named Pawan Khokhar saw potential and decided to help him get even better.
Neeraj worked hard and made it onto his school’s volleyball team. From there, he competed in regional, state, and other regional tournaments, winning many medals.
Dream of Playing for India
Neeraj’s biggest dream is to represent India in para volleyball. What makes him unique is that he
not just practicing and training with other para athletes but also with athletes who don’t have
disabilities. This shows his determination and love for the sport.
Family Support Matters
Family support is often essential for success, and Neeraj had that support. His parents, Awadhesh Singh & Indu Devi played a big role in helping him follow his dreams. In 2017, he got married to Shweta Kumari Singh, and together they have a son named Astitva Singh. His family is his biggest source of strength and motivation.
Achieving Greatness
Neeraj Kumar has represented Delhi in many para volleyball national championships, and he is the captain of the Delhi team. He played outstandingly in the national championship. His dedication and skills got him selected for the prestigious India Camp in Jaipur in June 2022.
