Nirmal Tiwari Kanpur Early Literary Pursuits
Nirmal Tiwari’s tryst with literature began in his childhood when he discovered his love for composing poems. Even during his intermediate studies, he started publishing his articles in newspapers like “Dainik Hint” and “Naveen Vishwa Manav.”
His writings were well-received, and he soon became a regular pen writer for the daily “Aaj Ki Bowling” in “Dainik Hint” and contributed Kundalini verses through satire in the column “Darpan Jhooth Na Bole” for “Naveen Vishwa Manav,” both newspapers based in Ghaziabad.
During this time, he was not just limited to print media. Nirmal Tiwari also hosted the program “Yuva Vani” on Akashvani (All India Radio) and started actively participating in various poet conferences.
It was in 1991, during an All India Kavi Sammelan organized by Doordarshan, that he received the opportunity to showcase his poetic talents on national television. This event, presided over by the renowned Dr. Santosh Anand, marked a significant milestone in his literary journey.

Gyanvardhini Yuva Sahitya Manch
In 1990, Nirmal Tiwari founded the “Gyanvardhini Yuva Sahitya Manch,” an organization dedicated to providing a platform for young poets. Under its banner, he organized numerous literary and social programs, fostering a sense of community among emerging writers.

During his residence in the Kalyanpur housing development in Kanpur, he formed a youth club with over a thousand members. This marked the beginning of his entry into politics. At that time, he was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Yuva Morcha and had the opportunity to meet state presidents and organizational leaders. His involvement in organizing various programs and his recognition as a political and social worker set the stage for his political journey.
Nirmal Tiwari Kanpur Entry into Politics
Nirmal Tiwari’s political career began in earnest when he was nominated as the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate from Kalyanpur Assembly for the 2007 assembly elections. Despite facing criticism from the then MLA Premlata Katiyar, he contested the elections but was narrowly defeated by 674 votes.
Undeterred, he continued to work diligently among the people of Pune, overseeing the assembly from 2007 to 2012.
In 2012, he successfully secured the BSP ticket again and was elected as the representative from the Kalyanpur Assembly. This time, however, he faced defeat at the hands of Satish Nigam by approximately 5700 votes.
In 2014, he was nominated by BSP’s National President, Ms. Mayawati, to contest the Lok Sabha elections in Kannauj against Dimple Yadav. While his performance was commendable, Dimple Yadav emerged victorious.
Despite his forays into politics, Nirmal Tiwari remained grounded and committed to serving society. He never harbored long-term political ambitions, focusing instead on strengthening his ties with the community.
